                          Producing models, orders, markers, plotting, lay plans as well as costings

    -    Proficient in both manual and computer (Gerber) grading of patterns

    -    Proficient in IDigitise Software; plotting, adjustment/correction/manipulation 

                          and file conversions into the Gerber Software. 

    -    Proficient in Microsoft, Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as the Mac 

                          equivalent, Pages, Numbers and Keynote

    -    Knowledge of fabric manipulation and characteristics.

During my time at college I entered competitions, the first being a design competition in association with World Aids Day and Selfridges. This was to design a costume for the World Aids Day Parade in 2009, and I was one of 21 designers chosen out over a hundred applicants. 

The second competition was with Harvey Nichols. This was to design an evening dress and I won 2nd prize. These competitions allowed me to explore my competitive abilities and determination, as well as the ability to adapt to contrasting target markets. I also gained experience, working within time limitations and under immense pressure which, in addition, reflected on my organization skills.

Internship

Grade House London 2015

During my one month internship at Grade House I was able to learn and develop my skills as a pattern cutter as well as my ability to work with the Gerber System. I worked closely with the team to;

    -    Create patterns from sketch

    -    Amend and grade patterns ready to be sent to factories 

    -    Correct sample patterns to specification

    -    Produce and print graded nests of patterns for customers

    -    Lease with customers to ensure that they are happy with sampling and preform                

                           adjustments where necessary

Throughout my time sub contracted at GKN Driveline Birmingham, I have worked for three companies; InDepth Managed services, ThyssenKrupp and Voith Industrial Services. I was later promoted to Team Leader in Jan 2012

During this time I have gained various skills and knowledge such as;

Hobbies and Interests

I enjoy creating clothing for myself and others. I also have a keen interest researching newely 

developed technical fabrics as well as fabrics made from recycled materials and eco friendly 

manufacturing. In my spare time i enjoy taking photographs using macro lenses of things that catch my eye. I also like exploring new places, swimming, reading and spending time with my friends and family.
